Sunday, August 7th is the date for Brits-in-the-Lake at Port Perry. “In-the-lake” because for the last three years the lake has dumped itself on us during the day.

In order for our club to be grouped together as much as possible when in Port Perry, we shall assemble behind the Tim Horton’s on Hwy #7 at the East end of Port Perry at 9:00 a.m. and then head down the road together. 9:00 a.m. at the Tim’s; earlier if you want coffee and stuff.

My GPS unit states that it will take me 59 minutes to travel from Bridgenorth to Port Perry. So let’s round that out to one hour. However, my GPS unit adjusts itself based upon my driving habits and for the last couple of months it has resided more in my Mustang than anywhere else. Since I shall be heading to Port Perry in my MGB I imagine it will take at least two minutes longer to make the journey. Hence, I shall leave home at the unheard of hour at 7:30 a.m. which should allow time in the loo when I arrive plus some much needed refreshment.

The theme for Brits at Port Perry is the Royal Wedding and you are encouraged to dress accordingly. I don’t have anything to use on this theme so am thinking about wearing a suit of the Emperor’s New Clothes. If you have any questions, please contact me at rogerhunter@bell.net but it is highly unlikely that I will have any answers except to refer you to www.britsonthelake.com so you might want to look there first. Oh yeah, the featured marque is a Jag for some reason.

Best Regards
