Bronte British Car Day

Event planner:

Toronto Triumph Club

Event Date: Sun, September 16, 2018

The 35th British Car Day is just 70 days away and is scheduled for Sunday 16th September 2018 at Bronte Creek Provincial Park off Burloak Drive in Oakville.  If you haven’t already, please include this important date in your calendar and mention it in communications with your fellow LBC owners.

“Fast lane”, our BCD pre-registration, is available at and will be open until 10th September.  Pricing at $15 per car and $10 per motorbike is the same as it has been for many years and you can pre-register up to 4 cars and 4 motorbikes at a time.  Some people have experienced some annoying messages when registering such as “cart empty”.  If you see this error, try clearing the cache (i.e. internet history) on your PC which should do the trick.  Some MACs can be problematic too so if that’s an issue, please try to register using a PC.  Once you have successfully completed the Fast Lane process you will immediately receive a PayPal auto receipt in your e-mail which is proof that your registration has been received.  We will send you a PDF of your window card via e-mail which you will need to print out and display when entering the park.  NOTE: We prepare the window cards in batches of 50 so you won’t necessarily receive it immediately, but please be patient – your card WILL arrive in plenty of time for the show!

If you prefer to pay at the gate the cost remains at $20 per car and $10 for a motorbike and to save time on the day you can download the registration form available at complete it and bring it along to the show.

If you are visiting us from away and are looking for somewhere to stay, visit Oakville has negotiated some special rates at hotels close to the park.  For details please go to  We are also planning a drive for LBCs on the Saturday afternoon before British Car Day.  It will start at Bronte Creek Provincial Park at about 1 p.m. and we will provide a pizza lunch beforehand at around Noon and then there will be some lead cars to show you some of the roads in our area.  If you do plan to join the drive, please drop me a line so that we know how many of you to expect and that you don’t go hungry.  I’ll let you know more on this new activity in future messages.

2018 is a bumper year for anniversary cars and four of the eight are pictured above:

Dave and Ken Hodge’s Series 1 Land Rover is celebrating its 70th anniversary.  Back in 1951/52 this Landie circumnavigated the globe.
John McLaine’s Austin A40 Farina celebrating 60 years is a very unusual sight in Canada.
Dave Kerry’s Austin Healey 100-6 has been in the family since 1980; the marque is also celebrating 60 years.
Norm Hendryks has owned his Morgan since 1969 when it was fresh from the factory.  The Plus 8 is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The owners of all the anniversary cars look forward to sharing their stories with you at British Car Day and I’ll be sharing some photos of the remaining 4 anniversary cars in a future message.

We have 7 returning sponsors this year:

  Exotic Motorworks - Platinum Sponsor.
Crescent Oil, visit Oakville - Gold Sponsors.

A huge thank you to all our sponsors for their support in making British Car Day a success.
The vendor area is filling up fast and there will be the usual fabulous array of over 60 British-related vendors offering their new and used goods for sale, including car parts, complete cars, t-shirts, hats, tools, books, supplies, and so on. Many vendors offer end-of-season specials, so there are lots of bargains to be had and great food is available from the many food vendors on site.  If you would like to be a vendor at our show details can be found on our web site at
